🚨 PRESS RELEASE: USSP WOMEN’S PROFESSIONAL SHOWCASE 🇺🇸🇲🇽

U.S. Soccer Prospects UPSL Women continued its preseason preparations with a special showcase friendly against Katy Jaguars, earning a 3–1 result on Saturday, July 25.

More importantly, both clubs came together to create a meaningful opportunity for female athletes to compete and be evaluated by representatives from ACF Zapotlanejo FC, a professional Mexican club competing in Liga MX Expansión and TDP Femenil.

The club’s owner, president and vice president attended the match in person to scout players from the U.S. Soccer Prospects system. USSP thanks Katy Jaguars for helping make the showcase possible and for sharing our commitment to creating more opportunities for women in the game.

“Our community doesn’t exist without athletes like these who put everything on the front line,” said USSP CEO Jarsi Ibanez. “The women’s game continues to grow, and my goal is to showcase as many deserving players as possible and connect them with clubs where they will be valued and have a real opportunity to play.”

That pathway is already producing results. Two weeks ago, Ibanez helped send Destiny, a player from UPSL Women’s Lady Arsenal FC, to sign a professional contract with CD FAS in El Salvador.

Ibanez’s commitment to women’s soccer was inspired by his late friend Rod Fuhrmann, whose legacy continues to motivate his vision of expanding UPSL Women throughout Texas and beyond.

“This showcase is another example of the network we are building. I have met face-to-face with professional clubs, and I won’t waste a player’s time. We want to send players where they matter and where they can continue developing.”

The next USSP professional showcase is being planned with Ponce FC, a first-division professional club from Puerto Rico.

This event was bigger than the final score. It was about clubs working together, growing the women’s game and opening real professional pathways.

Thank you to Katy Jaguars and ACF Zapotlanejo FC for helping make this opportunity possible.

Our girls gear up as we get ready for a preseason showcase! Our CEO Jarsi Ibanez invited important guests to this match to highlight some of the best talent the UPSL League has to offer. We are excited as we invited guest clubs like ACF Zapotlanejo from Mexico 🇲🇽 LiGa TDP Femenil, Jarabacoa FC from Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, and PONCE FC, from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 first division pro league of the CONCACAF.
