July is turning out to be even busier and more exciting than expected! 🐶🚙

We had a small but very special transport to the NE last week.
It looked like it was falling apart, but we were able to add Blair and Sinclair at the last minute! 🩷🐾 Blair’s been on our hearts for a few months now so we were thrilled to make it happen.

We’re sending 15 dogs on transport to the Midwest and the NE tomorrow and 5 more head out to the NE on 7/23!🎉

Due to a lack of fosters and SPACE at Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas we’re moving dogs to the The Dog Stop - Spring, TX prior to transport to help keep them healthy and allow for some decompression and lots of fun! 💦🎾

Last, but definitely not least we have the Paws and Popsicles Adoption Event this weekend. We greatly appreciate the gift basket donations and volunteer support. 🙏 Even with all of the donations , adoption events end up costing Happy Tails of Mcas-TX quite a bit of money.
We always have lots of fun and enjoy sponsoring the adoption events, but we need to recover some of the cost. 🎊

Thank u as always for your support!🩷

Looking forward to a crazy fun weekend with lots of adoptions!

Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas

It’s almost transport time! 🎉🐶

It’s only the beginning of summer and the intake numbers at Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas are already staggering! 😩

We know we can’t transport our way out of the overpopulation problem in Texas, but it helps alleviate some of the overcrowding.

Happy Tails of Mcas-TX has been hard at work planning transports to our out of state rescue partners. So far, we have 31 MCAS dogs (21 adults and 10 puppies) with a committed plan.🙌

23 lucky pups including Dakota will head to our partners in the NE on 5/28. 💜🐾

8 more and counting will hit the road in June to the NE and the Midwest. 💚🐾

As always, we couldn’t do it without a lot of help. The average cost of transport is $200 a dog. It adds up quickly! We want to continue to send as many dogs as we can, but need to ensure we have the funds to make it happen.

Thank you for your continued support of the homeless dogs of Montgomery County - Texas! 🙏

THANK YOU to everyone that donated to our Tofu and Friends transport.🐶🐱

We’re excited to share that 9 dogs have already been adopted and are living their best lives in the Northeast. 🎉🎉
Some of them were overlooked for months at Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas and were adopted within a few days of arriving at our rescue partners.

We couldn’t make these life changing transports happen without your continued support. 💕🐾

✳️✳️TOFU AND FRIENDS✳️✳️

We need your help! 😬

A few weeks ago Happy Tails of Mcas-TX busted Tofu out of Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas! 🎉 He’s been such a good boy in play group at The Dog Stop - Spring, TX that we were able to find rescue placement for him in the Northeast!💜

So, we started planning a small, simple transport for Tofu and a few friends! 🐶🐾🎾🐱

Well….Tofu and a few friends has turned into Tofu and LOTS of friends. 2️⃣2️⃣ dogs and 6️⃣ cats will be making the trip to the Northeast later this week and the lineup is incredible! 🙌 We’re sending big dogs, black dogs, long term dogs and even a tripod.
Check it out!👀
💜Tofu: Intake 6/4/25
💚Porthos: Intake 8/13/25
💜Sofia: Intake 8/22/25
💚Dante: Intake 11/18/25
💜Willow: Intake 12/18/25
💚Eddie: Intake 1/23/26 (2nd timer)

We didn’t plan to send this many dogs and we need help covering transport costs. The average cost is $250/dog, but we think it’s more than worth it to give our Texas pups a brand new start.

We greatly appreciate your support of the homeless animals of Montgomery County. 🙏

Special thank u to those that are fostering and our friends that have already donated toward boarding costs. 💕🐾
