💙 UPDATE: Immediate Flood Assistance Applications Paused
The response to our flood assistance opportunity has been tremendous. At this time, applications have been paused while we work with our township trustees to review the initial wave of requests, which has exceeded the $50,000 currently available through this program.
Thank you to everyone who helped us get this information into the hands of families impacted by the flooding. Your shares, phone calls, conversations, and connections helped us reach neighbors throughout Fayette County who need support.
If you have already submitted a request through your township trustee, please know that we are working to review the applications and determine how the available funding can best be distributed. **Please do not continue to contact your trustees to request applications or updates at this point.** The Foundation will reach out to you if your application has been approved.
This pause applies specifically to the $50,000 immediate assistance program described in our original post. The Fayette County Flood Relief Fund remains active, and we will continue to accept donations and work alongside Fayette County EMA to assess our community's broader flood recovery needs.

💙 Fayette County, you have blown us away.
In just one week, the Fayette County Flood Relief Fund has raised over $162,000 from more than 170 donors to support those impacted by the devastating flooding in our community—and donations continue to come in.
We are incredibly grateful to every individual, family, business, and organization that has stepped forward to help. Your generosity is an incredible reminder of what it means to be a community that takes care of one another.
As donations continue to come in, the Fayette Community Foundation is working closely with Fayette County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) to assess the long-term impact of the flooding, identify the needs of our community, and determine how the dollars entrusted to the Flood Relief Fund can make the greatest impact throughout the recovery process.
But we also know families need help right now.
To help meet those immediate needs, the Foundation's Board of Directors has voted to provide $50,000 from the Foundation's own discretionary resources for direct assistance to families impacted by the flooding. These dollars are separate from the donations made to the Fayette County Flood Relief Fund and are only available to the Foundation through a grant awarded last year for Board Member engagement.
Families impacted by the flooding may request up to $1,000 in assistance for immediate necessities, including housing costs, food, and other essential supplies.

We will continue to share updates as we work with EMA to determine how the donations made to the Fayette County Flood Relief Fund can best support Fayette County through the weeks and months of recovery ahead.
