๐๐๐ค๐ Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Congratulations, Avery Lape & Natalie Mangus!
Introducing Avery Lape!๐๐ค๐๐
Brian K. Martin Foundation Board is proud to recognize Avery Lape for her outstanding achievements and bright future ahead.
This fall, Avery will attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, where she has been accepted into the Nursing Program and will continue her athletic career as a member of the collegeโs soccer team. Following graduation, Avery hopes to pursue a career in oncology, combining her passion for helping others with her dedication to excellence.
Throughout high school, Avery has been actively involved in numerous organizations and activities, including Spanish National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Student Council, Student Forum, Freshman Mentor Program, Bible Club, Prom Committee, Varsity Soccer, Powder Puff Football, Volleyball Intramurals, Recycling Club, Pittsburgh Riverhounds, and Chiropractor/Art Club.
Her commitment to serving others is reflected in her community involvement through Leoโs Club, National Honor Society, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Earth Day Clean-Up, Connellsville Soccer Club concessions, and PE in the Park.
Averyโs list of accomplishments is equally impressive. She is a Global Scholar, member of both the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, a Penn State 4.0 Club recipient, All-County Soccer selection, Academic All-Star, and was selected as her high schoolโs nominee for the prestigious WPIAL James Collins Scholar-Athlete Award.
When asked to define what qualifies as a challenge Avery stated, โA challenge isnโt always something that happens to you directly. Sometimes itโs watching someone you love suffer and feeling completely helpless. For me, that was my momโs cancer diagnosis.โ She went onto state, โThatโs what a real challenge looks like to me. Itโs when something shakes your whole world and you have zero control over the outcome. You cry when you need to, pray when youโre scared, and keep hope even when it feels impossible.โ
Averyโs dedication in the classroom, on the field, and within her community exemplifies what it means to be a Falcon. We congratulate her on this exciting next chapter and wish her continued success as she pursues her dreams.
