Senior Awards Night at Conneaut High School-5-27-26

The Chamber was so pleased to be a part of this evening. The Conneaut Area Chamber of Commerce Fund of The Conneaut Foundation awarded these six outstanding seniors a total of $6,000 to help further their education. Left to right are: Hamilton Spero, Carrick Dobran, Abigail Palo, Abigail Brecht, Raymie Fill, and Cayson Hayes.

Congratulations to all of the evening's recipients. The Class of 2026 is a special group of kids.

What a great night! Many thanks to Table 985 for hosting the Ashtabula County CHAMBERS Spring Mixer last night. We had a great turnout. Thank you again Shane and Heather. The atmosphere and appetizers were divine!

T-Ball and Coach Pitch sign ups are still open with a late fee until Friday, April 24th at midnight! $70.00

Season is set to start practices the week of May 11th and Games the week of May 25th until July 3rd. In order to start on time we need coaches. These dates are subject to change. More information to follow

Typically T-Ball plays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and Coach Pitch on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

We currently still need atleast 2 Head Coaches for T-Ball and a few more assistance coaches!

Coach Pitch we are currently in need of 1 Head Coach. If you signed up to be an assistant coach and are interested in being a Head Coach please reach out to us.

Competitive Moto Sports

Competitive Moto Sports is a small family-owned business, selling parts and accessories for most powersport such as dirt bikes, street bikes (including Harley Davidson), ATV’s, UTV’s, side by sides, jet skis, boats, and snowmobiles. They sell both aftermarket and OEM parts for most brands of powersports, and have been in business for almost 18 years, recently relocating to Conneaut to be near family.

The store has an “old school” approach to business. They like to talk to their customers and help them whenever they can. Although they do not offer services (other than mounting dirt bike tires), they are happy to help their customers find someone to assist in any service help or advice they may need.

Being family-owned and small, they can keep overhead low, and prices reasonable. Competitive Moto Sports is happy to accommodate people’s needs outside of their regular business hours whenever possible and is looking forward to serving the Conneaut Community!

A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held at the business, 223 Main Street, on Friday, March 27th at 4:30 pm. This will be followed up with two days of deals and giveaways on the 28th and 29th. Please come out and support this new business!

Chamber Champion Awards will be presented at the Annual Dinner Meeting on February 24th at New Leaf.

Conneaut National Honor Society Named Inaugural Community Impact Award Winner:
This award recognizes a business, nonprofit organization, or individual whose actions have made a meaningful and lasting difference in the community, honoring those who go above and beyond to improve the social, cultural, or economic well-being of the city through service, generosity, and collaboration.

Independent Can Company Named Inaugural Business Impact Award Winner:
This award recognizes a locally owned or locally operating business that has demonstrated outstanding success, leadership, and commitment to the community over the past year. This award honors a business that not only excels economically but also contributes positively to the quality of life and vitality of the city.

2025 Legacy Award: Lew Shiley and Robert "Bob" Marcy (both will receive the awards posthumously):
Presented to a business or individual who has made outstanding achievements to the City of Conneaut. This award is typically given to a business or individual whose achievements and contributions measure over many years and have made a significant impact on the community.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2025 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR!!
KRISTINA DAUGHERTY

Kristina’s Citizen of the Year nomination read in part, “As owner of Castaways Pizza and Grill, Kristina is already very busy, but with the addition of her volunteer and community service hours, she is a non-stop force of energy. She sits on two boards: The Conneaut Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Board and the Conneaut Port Authority (CPA) Board. On the CPA Board, Kristina works tirelessly to improve the quality of life in Conneaut (particularly along our beautiful lakefront). She works hard to promote events such as the Community Easter Egg Hunt that attracts hundreds of kids and families, and the Annual Halloween Candy Crawl (with almost 70 businesses jumping on board this year to hand out candy at their respective locations). Kristina also bought several gifts and gift cards from area businesses to use as giveaways in her “20 Days of Giving” leading up to Christmas. and has been known to purchase and distribute food items for those in need—no questions asked. She has a huge heart, and it would devastate her to see someone going without food”.

Congratulations, Krissy. We cannot wait for the Chamber's Annual Dinner Meeting next Tuesday so that you can receive your award!
