Spring is here and its time to plan for you 2026 summer. This is a copy of the 2026 Spring Membership letter. You should get a copy in your email. If you don't, or want a paper copy, please email the association at
Hello Shady Avenue Association members and prospective members
Now that winter is behind us, we can look forward to long summer days making memories at recently repaired Shady dock.
*2026 Membership Fees and Keys

Membership dues are $80 per year per residence and include 2 keys to the dock.
Extra keys are $10.00 each.
Dock rental fee is $160, due by June 2nd.
If payment is not received by June 2nd, your stall will be offered to the next person on the wait list.
This dock fee is doubled if you or a proxy does not help with dock in and out days.
HELP is preferred, as we always need muscles and folks with wet suits.
Paper checks can be made out to Shady Avenue Association and mailed to David Rhodes (address below) All members please include a current phone number, email and your permanent address. Cash or checks are also accepted at the key exchange during meeting time on Saturday May 23rd at 10 am until noon, and May 30th from 10-noon.
Keys will be distributed by Bill Streit at 11801 Shady Ave.
You may contact Bill at 412-443-5130 to arrange key exchange outside of the above times.
The lock will be replaced on the gate on May 30th.

Bring your old keys to exchange and your receipt if you paid on line
* Repair the Dock Raffle
Part of the dock was repaired last fall. (See pictures on the page). There are still more repairs that need completed. Beginning at the membership meeting on May 23, raffle tickets will be available for a $10 donation. Each ticket gives you a chance to win a $200 gift certificate from Livingstons Meats. The proceeds of this raffle will be used to defray the cost of future dock repairs. The winner will be picked on the 4th of July. Please see Barb Mulligan for tickets, contact her at 814-720-8719. Any and all monetary donations gladly accepted.
* Dock in day and clean up, Saturday May 23rd. 9:00 am.
Come ready to get dirty. Don’t forget wetsuits and gloves. Volunteers are also needed to w**d and clean up the dock area.

Friday, June 5th, 9-3, and 6th, 9-2. Please let Barb know if you have any nice items that can be included in the ad. If you plan to participate, please drop off $5 to help cover the cost of advertising and signage.

• Dock Rules
Climbing over and under gate not permitted.
Please keep gate closed and locked.
Please use trash can, and empty when needed.
No Fishing in swim areas- hooks damage feet, boats, and boat covers.
Please fish on the blue dock and not on the sand pier.
