Our Tuesday hiking group had an amazing tour looking at trees modified by the Southern Ute nation during the 1800’s and 1900’s. Expert and CN&N member, Janet Shown, gave us quite an education in the process and ceremony believed to be involved in the creation of these beautiful, living Native American artifacts. And we got to see a waterfall too!

Members of CN&N’s garden group went to the Jefferson County Fair Grounds recently to see the demonstration gardens. We were given a tour to see the Plant Select, vegetable, and native gardens led by Master Gardener, Steve Wise.

Staff and volunteers at Seniors4Wellness were surprised when they learned in March that the nonprofit had been awarded a $4,000 grant from Conifer Newcomers and Neighbors to maintain its free

Members of CN&N’s art group had a great outing to the Center for the Arts Evergreen to see the exhibition Ecotones: Water and Thresholds of Change. We had a wonderful tour with Chris Stevens, Exhibitions Director for CAE and also one of the jurors for the show. Thank you CAE for all you do for our mountain communities!

Proceeds from our Holiday Boutique (held in November each year) go to local organizations in the form of grant money.

One of our grant recipients, Blitz Robotics, came to a recent meeting of CN&N to express gratitude for the money they received and to demonstrate the robot they’ve created. They are students at Conifer High School (and surrounding areas) and participate in several major competitions each year.

CN&N is proud to assist this group of young entrepreneurs. Be sure to attend our Holiday Boutique in November and help local nonprofits like Blitz Robotics.
