Behind the Scenes at Bootstraps

Last week, something really special happened. A group of incredible volunteers - with no connection to Bootstraps other than their generous hearts - showed up to help fold, stuff, seal, and stamp more than 500 letters for our year-end appeal.

At Bootstraps, we still believe in the art of handwritten addresses and the extra love that goes into a true labor of love. Each letter represents weeks of writing, editing, and care… all to say thank you for supporting our mission and to invite our community to partner with us again in 2026.

And the sweetest part? My 6-year-old daughter and my husband jumped in to help, too. Watching them be a part of this moment reminded me that giving back starts at home - and that community is built one small act of kindness at a time.

To everyone who helped last week (and to those who support Bootstraps year after year), thank you! You are the heart behind the work we do for local students.

Here’s to connection, community, and carrying our mission forward together.

Bootstraps is celebrating 80 years of empowering mountain-area students to reach their educational and career dreams! Since 1945, we have awarded over $7 million in scholarships and interest-free loans to more than 2,500 students - thanks to generous community members like you.
