LOOKING FOR WORK OVER THE SUMMER? GILLIAM COUNTY YOUTH NEED YOU!
Gilliam County Family Services is accepting applications for a temporary, full time, Oregon Youth Conservation Corps (OYCC) Crew Leader Position. This position is approximately 7 - 8 weeks duration, starting approx. June 8 and ending August 14, 2020. 40hr/week. Schedule will be determined upon hiring. Applicants must be able to perform manual labor in adverse weather conditions.
This employee MUST also:
• Be over 18 years of age
• Have a valid Oregon driver’s license
• Be able to pass a criminal background check
• Attend mandatory training June 17 -19, 2020
The mission of OYCC is to create meaningful opportunities for youth through significant resource projects that enhance the Oregon community. The OYCC has the responsibility of implementing the following:
• To establish a disadvantaged and at-risk youth work program in order to perform conservation work of public value in the most cost-effective manner
• To utilize such a program as a means of needed assistance to protect, conserve, rehabilitate and improve the natural, historical and cultural resources of the state; and
• To utilize such a program to increase educational, training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged and at-risk youth for the purpose of improving work skills, instilling work ethic and increasing employability.
