Ever heard of the Order of the Arrow?
Curious how Scouts can go above and beyond their beyond weekly meetings, campouts, and badges?

Join us at our next troop meeting, this Thursday at 6:30pm.
We’ll hold an OA election for one of our Scouts and hear a quick, clear overview of what the Order is all about.

It’s a proud tradition.
It’s an honor.
And it starts with showing up.

Our adult leadership attended some great breakout groups this morning. (And a great reminder to keep posting here, been slack a bit - sorry!)
Also found some great activities for the cub pack coming up.

Tonight, the Troop will be headed to Fire Mountain for some great team building in the evening.

Lastly: don't forget to turn your clock forward this evening!

Be safe out there, Scouts.
We're going to cancel our meeting tonight.

If you're out and about today and tomorrow remember:
Check for road closures - please do not attempt to drive through.

🚫 Hitting water at highway speeds can stall your vehicle
🚫 You may lose control and leave your lane of travel
🚫 Conditions can worsen quickly during rising water
If you see water over the roadway, slow down immediately and avoid the area.

And you can always check with your local first responders if they need assistance with sand bags, food, drinks, etc

Today we pause to thank all who served our country β€” including the veterans who volunteer as leaders in our troop and especially those involved with American Legion Post 43 that help support us.

We appreciate you! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Our seasonal popcorn fundraising is nearly complete!
Make sure to contact your favorite scout, or stop by to pick some up at Food Pavilion or Pioneer Market to support our Troop & Pack.
I've seen many other troops around at various places as well.

Also - Scouts have an online portal to buy more than popcorn (and maybe some cool photos to show off their Scouting adventures).
I just received my Chocolatey Pretzels and they were amazing! So find your favorite scout to get their portal link.

November and December are going to be more quiet for our troop with no outdoor adventures planned so Scouts can focus on family & after school events. (still meeting Thursdays at the Legion)

Some dates to keep in mind:
Dec 18th: Troop Christmas party
Jan 9th-11th: Winter Campout (location tbd, but looking at Camano Island)
July 12-18: Summer Camp!

Keep on Scouting!

Hey Scouts!

We're well on our way through our yearly popcorn fundraiser. If you haven't found your favorite scout to get popcorn from yet, head down to Pioneer Market Friday-Sunday to pick some up in person (we share timeslots with our super cool Cub Pack).

And if you're headed out there tomorrow (Sep 21) , stop on by the Legion for some amazing breakfast (8-11)

Until spring, Thursday meetings will be held at the Legion (due to early sunset times).

We're in the process of planning one of our (most likely) last campout for the year in October at Rasar. We'll be devoting Saturday for service project time.

Lastly (looking forward): We're looking forward to Camp Sheppard Winter Camp in January. and Camp Baker (in Oregon) was picked for our summer camp.

Oh goodness, we have been busy! (And so have I 🫣)
Between camp outs (yes, we forgot to mention the Sulphide Creek campout...), rank evaluations, merit badge studying, and skills learning - we decided to take a break and head out to Fire Mountain for the week of fun and skills learning.

It was a blast.
Nearly the whole troop attended and everyone earned at least 2 merit badges for the week - others took time to blast through rank skill ups & some badges were only partial completions due to restrictions at camp (which aren't bad either!).

Our Scoutmaster took first πŸ₯‡ place at the SM Chili Cook-off πŸ₯΅
our troop participated in BOTH the Cultus Games (troop games & buddy skills) & Lake Challenge Challenge (sports relay) πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸš£β€β™‚οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈπŸ§—β€β™‚οΈ
and everyone caught, cleaned, cooked, and ate a fish 🎣

Other highlights from camp:
πŸ•οΈ2 scouts slept outside in a wilderness survival setting
πŸ»β€β„οΈ 3 scouts woke up early for the Polar Bear swim
πŸ”«Our SM showed off his skills in the rifle range
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Troop conducted an opening flag ceremony for the camp
We braved the heights for the Zipline (and some even woke up at 1:20am for a special night zip!)
And the Troop Skit at closing was a big hit (focus was on a comical importance of wilderness survival)

Come join us tonight for our Court of Honor as we hand out awards, recognitions, and have fun
(Riverfront Park, 6:30)

And stop by the Legion Sunday morning for some delicious breakfast
