Day 3 is in the books!

Yesterday, our citizens had the opportunity to hear from an outstanding panel of speakers, including Superior Court Judge Honorable Anne Edwards, Representative Valerie McDonnell, and Executive Councilor Janet Stevens. Their insights into leadership, public service, and government provided valuable learning experiences for our future leaders.
After dinner, the energy shifted into high gear as the girls participated in a lively debate and an enthusiastic rally, showcasing their passion, creativity, and civic engagement.
Another exciting day of learning, leadership, and friendship at Granite Girls State!

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Granite Girls State โ€“ Day 2 Recap! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Day two was filled with learning, leadership, and lots of enthusiasm! The delegates have been asking thoughtful and insightful questions, showing a genuine interest in government and civic engagement.

A special thank you to Ray Buckley and Adam Sexton, who were a huge hit with the girls and shared valuable perspectives on politics and journalism.

The evening also featured skits, and the delegates did an outstanding job showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and sense of humor. Itโ€™s inspiring to watch these young women grow in confidence and leadership with each passing day.

We canโ€™t wait to see what Day 3 brings! ๐Ÿ’™

Granite Girls State started today!

The Granite Girls State program provides young women with a unique opportunity to experience government in action, develop leadership skills, and build lifelong friendships.
Throughout the week, delegates learn firsthand how local and state government functions by participating in mock elections, legislative sessions, and leadership activities. They gain valuable knowledge about citizenship, public service, and the responsibilities that come with being an engaged member of their community.

Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Granite Girls State continues to inspire and prepare the next generation of leaders to make a positive impact in New Hampshire and beyond.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Happy Birthday, New Hampshire! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

On this day in 1788, New Hampshire became the ninth state to ratify the United States Constitution, providing the crucial vote needed to make our nationโ€™s founding charter the supreme law of the land.

As we celebrate 238 years of constitutional government, let us remember our responsibility to protect, defend, and never take for granted the freedoms secured by those who came before us.

Happy 238th Birthday, New Hampshire! โค๏ธ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

Big news from the ALA Foundation! To maximize impact for veterans and military families, the ALA Foundation has made the strategic decision to discontinue local Veterans Creative Arts Festival (VCAF) grants and focus future support on the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. By concentrating resources at the national level, we can help ensure more veteran artists have opportunities to showcase their talents, connect with fellow participants from across the country, and experience the life-changing benefits of creative arts programs. ๐ŸŽจ

We are proud of the many local VCAF projects supported over the years and remain committed to empowering veterans through the arts. We look forward to continuing that mission by investing in the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival and the incredible veterans it serves. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Learn more about the National Veterans Creative Arts Festival and the ALA Foundation's impact at www.ALAFoundation.org.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Red Shirt Friday ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Every Friday, we wear red to remember and support our service members who are deployed around the world. Itโ€™s a simple way to show that they are not forgotten and that we stand behind them and their families.
