What starts as a game on your phone can sometimes become something much more serious.

Today’s mobile games and apps often include gambling-like features such as loot boxes, casino-style games, sports betting ads, and in-app purchases designed to keep users engaged. Constant access through cell phones can make it easier for gambling behaviors to develop, especially among teens and young adults.

Warning signs may include:
• Spending more money than intended on gaming or betting apps
• Feeling restless or irritable when unable to play
• Hiding time or money spent on apps
• Using gaming or gambling to escape stress or emotions

Problem gambling can affect anyone, and help is available. Raising awareness is an important step in prevention and recovery!

Sometimes our hardest struggles are the ones we try not to see/admit within ourselves, and/or that go unseen by others. 🙈

Problem gambling in NH affects someone of any age, background, or personal circumstance. We know that mental health, relationships, finances, and overall wellbeing are negatively affected by problem gambling, often long before the outward signs are noticeable to others.

Today we want to remind you that recovery is not about perfection. It’s about courage. It’s about asking for help, rebuilding trust, and taking one step at a time.
