The 2026 Scouting for Food service effort wrapped up today. 8 scouts, 2 leaders, and 3 parents from Troop 48 collected and delivered over 800lbs of food to Cooperative Christian Ministry this morning.

Along with our winter Court of Honor tonight we were blessed to be able to award 4 new Eagle Scouts into our ranks! Congratulations to Jayden Crowell, Kasey King, PJ Tomkus and Justin Urso on achieving the highest rank in Scouts. We are all beyond proud of your accomplishments!!!!!

November was a busy month for Troop 48. Scouts and leaders took part in our second adopt a stream cleanup of the year for Clarke Ceek near Cox Mill Rd. 4-5 bags of trash and recycling were collected and removed from the stream area in addition to a few more tires. The good news is that the boys work is paying off as they are finding less trash to collect over a broader area.

Our November trip took us to Camp John J Barnhardt for two nights where 7 scouts from the troop took part in the council Eagle merit badge mania. We also had 8 AOL scouts (and 3 parents) from Pack 38 join us for one night to get a feel for troop overnights and to help them mark off some of their AOL requirements. AOLs learned the patrol method, went on a hike, played Gagaball, learned to tie knots, helped with cooking and cleanup, and set up and tore down their own tents. It was a great weekend all around.
