At 01:30, Co. 13 (1st due), Co. 16 (2nd due), Sq. 4, & Sq. 8 were dispatched for a residential structure fire on McMaster Rd. Initial dispatch information was that the kitchen was on fire and one resident stuck on the porch. Chief 13 arrived to find active fire in the kitchen. Chief 13 assisted the resident off of the porch and then made entry into the residence and extinguished the fire that was on top of the stove with an extinguisher. Engine 13 (w/4) & Tanker 13-3 (w/2) responded. Co. 16 was disregarded with Co. 13 able to handle. E-13 arrived and made entry wth a water can to extinguish the remaining embers and TIC to verify no extension. T13-3 arrived and stood by for water supply. Crews verified that the fire did not extend into the cabinets or ceiling and completed a primary search. The residence was then ventilated using a battery operated PPV fan. EMS 8-6 & Medic 8-6 arrived and checked on the resident who was uninjured and did not require any transport. Upon completing ventilation, all units cleared the scene.
