At 01:30, Co. 13 (1st due), Co. 16 (2nd due), Sq. 4, & Sq. 8 were dispatched for a residential structure fire on McMaster Rd. Initial dispatch information was that the kitchen was on fire and one resident stuck on the porch. Chief 13 arrived to find active fire in the kitchen. Chief 13 assisted the resident off of the porch and then made entry into the residence and extinguished the fire that was on top of the stove with an extinguisher. Engine 13 (w/4) & Tanker 13-3 (w/2) responded. Co. 16 was disregarded with Co. 13 able to handle. E-13 arrived and made entry wth a water can to extinguish the remaining embers and TIC to verify no extension. T13-3 arrived and stood by for water supply. Crews verified that the fire did not extend into the cabinets or ceiling and completed a primary search. The residence was then ventilated using a battery operated PPV fan. EMS 8-6 & Medic 8-6 arrived and checked on the resident who was uninjured and did not require any transport. Upon completing ventilation, all units cleared the scene.

We would like to recognize and thank everyone who helped make this year's golf tournament another huge success! We maxed out with a total of 44 teams that played! We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Firefighter Jennings and the Evington Volunteer Fire Department. His presence will be deeply missed. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Rest easy brother, we’ll take it from here.

It is with a heavy heart that we extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Josh Jennings.

Josh was a young, dedicated servant who was always willing to give his time and help others. He was also a valued member of the Evington Volunteer Fire Department, where he selflessly served his community and made a difference in the lives of others.

We are grateful for Josh’s dedication, his willingness to serve, and the time he gave to protect and help his neighbors. His commitment to the Evington community and the fire department will not be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jennings family, his friends, fellow firefighters, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing Josh. May God provide comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Thank you, Josh, for your service, your dedication, and your willingness to serve others. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten. 🙏🚒

At 17:07, Co. 13 was dispatched for a vehicle fire at the intersection of New Chapel Rd & Double Bridges Rd. Engine 13-1 (w/5) & Tanker 13-3 (w/2) responded. 13-20 arrived on scene to find one vehicle fully involved and all occupants out unharmed. E13-1 arrived and deployed 2 attack lines and began extinguishing the car and the surrounding field that had caught fire. T13-3 arrived and supplied E13-1. The intersection remained shut down while crews operated.

We are excited to announce a new way for you to make donations to and support the Concord Volunteer Fire Department!!!

Zeffy is an all-online platform that is 100% free to non-profits. Unlike most online platforms, Zeffy does not require a fee from donations received or a fee that donors must pay. 100% of your donation goes directly to the CVFD.

At checkout, you will be given multiple options to pay electronically, as well as the option to pay an additional percentage to Zeffy to help keep the platform free. For payments over $1,000, the option will be given to pay by check. Upon completing checkout, you will receive a tax receipt by email.

Right now, you can make donations to the CVFD donation fund in Zeffy. In it, you can choose to designate your donation for a specific project fund or the general fund. Whatever you choose, 100% of your donation will be allocated to that fund.

The deadline is today for all sponsors to allow enough time for all signs to be made. You may still be a sponsor after today, but you will not have your own sign.

Yesterday, members stood by at the station to pay our respects to Deputy Duvall as his body was returned home. Truck 13 stood by at the Mt Athos bridge along with numerous other departments staged at each bridge that the procession traveled through.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Deputy Duvall’s family and the ACSO in this difficult time. Deputy Duvall was a beloved member and profound presence in his community. He never stopped thinking about and serving others before himself. He was a true hero and had a servants heart. Deputy Duvall thank you for your constant service to others, you will be greatly missed. A job well done sir, we’ll take it from here.
