As we reflect on this year’s National GEAR UP Week, we are deeply proud of the GEAR UP New Hampshire staff who brought together students, families, schools, elected officials, and community partners from across the state to celebrate the power and impact of GEAR UP.
Hearing students share how GEAR UP has opened doors to college and career pathways and helped them cultivate belief in themselves, beautifully reflected this year’s theme, “Planting Seeds, Growing a Nation.” For nearly a decade, GEAR UP NH has planted seeds of opportunity that have taken root and improved outcomes for thousands of New Hampshire students.
We were especially honored to welcome Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander and Senator Maggie Hassan to our celebrations in Franklin and Somersworth. They listened directly to students, families, and educators about how GEAR UP has transformed lives by helping students explore their potential, supporting families as they plan for the future, and equipping educators with tools to strengthen their communities. We are grateful for their ongoing advocacy to protect and expand federal funding that supports New Hampshire students and ensures that more young people have the chance to dream big and succeed.
As we mark this final National GEAR UP Week for New Hampshire, with the program ending due to the loss of federal funding, we do so with immense gratitude. To every student, family, educator, and partner who has been part of this journey: thank you. The legacy of GEAR UP NH will live on in the aspirations, achievements, and bright futures of New Hampshire’s students!
