Last Sunday, the scouts conquered one of the toughest peaks in the Atop New England (ANE) series, Rhode Island’s Jerimoth Hill! At 811’, this behemoth of a mountain was a challenge, but it was no match for our strong hikers, who completed the two mile hike with ease. Afterwards, the Troop replaced the lost calories from the strenuous outing at Olneyville New York System with signature RI loaded hot dogs and fries, as well as the staple coffee milk.

Completed all in one day, the scouts who attended will earn their JERIMOTH HILL AWARD for their uniforms, one of the six that will eventually qualify them for the coveted ANE medal.

Couldn’t make it? Don’t worry, as we will return to Jerimoth at least once in the next couple years. ALSO, you can look forward to our upcoming ANE hikes:

THIS SPRING: Summit of Mt. Mansfield - rated moderate difficulty
LATE JULY/EARLY AUGUST: Mt. Kahtahdin climb - rated hard difficulty

Stay tuned on the Troop’s social media for a sneak-peak (pun intended) of what your Jerimoth Hill award will look like!

Thank you very much to all of the adult drivers and volunteers for making this trip a super fun event for the scouts!

Thank you so much to everyone who helped out with this part of my (Grady Flinn) Eagle project on Saturday! We had a really successful work day, and it was all thanks to the great work done and help given by scout volunteers, my mom (!), adult leaders, and my neighbors. I want to give a special thank you to Mr. Rzepczynski, not only for providing guidance and support for the entire 6 hour day, but also for helping me get to this point since day one. Entirely with hand tools, built and installed an educational sign in Fairyland Woods marking a formerly enslaved Concordian, one of the very first people of color in the town to own land. Thank you everyone, and I’m looking forward to finalizing the other components of my project very soon!

The Mt. Frissell 2023 Hike - the first of the Atop New England (ANE) series - is a wrap!

Congratulations to all participants. Today, 13 brave Troop 132 members tackled Mt. Frissell, Round Mountain, the CT highpoint, andthe Tri-state corner of CT, MA, and NY!

Everyone that hiked today will earn one of the six loops for their uniforms that they will need to qualify for the coveted ANE medal!

We hope you will join us for the next ANE adventure, where we’ll be OBLITERATING our ascent of Jerimoth Hill in Rhode Island the weekend of 9/16/23. Come prepared; this one is going to be a challenge…
