Recently, two members of the Lived Experience Advisory Panel (LEAP) had the opportunity to speak with 20 nursing students at the University of New Hampshire about the power of compassion, understanding and recovery.

Sarah Mullins (left) and Samantha McClay (right) shared their personal experiences navigating the health care system and engaged students in an important conversation about reducing stigma and creating supportive environments that foster recovery.

Funded through a generous grant from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, LEAP brings the voices of people with lived experience into health care settings across the state.Their insights help shape more patient-centered approaches to care and strengthen understanding of the challenges and opportunities individuals face on their recovery journeys.

LEAP is a vital part of the Foundation’s behavioral health work, helping ensure that the perspectives of patients and others with lived experience inform decisions, improve care and build stronger, more supportive communities.

National Paper Airplane Day was back on May 26th, but our flight was delayed due to busy schedules and sickness. We finally cleared the runway today, however, for our annual office paper airplane contest! From impressive launches to crash landings, there was no shortage of laughter. Congratulations to our winner, Kris Hering, Vice President of Quality Improvement for the Foundation for Healthy Communities! While others experienced turbulence, your paper airplane soared above the competition!
