National Paper Airplane Day was back on May 26th, but our flight was delayed due to busy schedules and sickness. We finally cleared the runway today, however, for our annual office paper airplane contest! From impressive launches to crash landings, there was no shortage of laughter. Congratulations to our winner, Kris Hering, Vice President of Quality Improvement for the Foundation for Healthy Communities! While others experienced turbulence, your paper airplane soared above the competition!

We were honored to celebrate Jasmine Sylvester as this year’s recipient of the Clint Jones NH Nursing Award. Jasmine’s compassion, professionalism and dedication to both patients and colleagues truly reflect the spirit of this recognition and the legacy of Clint Jones. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, and thank you to Southern New Hampshire Healthfor hosting such a meaningful celebration of nursing excellence.

On May 7, 2026, Southern New Hampshire Health proudly hosted its 5th Annual Nursing Excellence Awards. During this special event, we had the distinct honor of welcoming three esteemed guests to the stage to present the Clint Jones NH Nursing Award to Jasmine Sylvester, BSN-RN, CPAN. Presenters included Peter Ames, Executive Director of the Foundation for Healthy Communities, along with Leslie Glines-Jones and Matthew Jones, the wife and son of Clint Jones.

The Clint Jones NH Nursing Award was established in honor of Clint Jones, former director of the New Hampshire Nursing Workforce Partnership, a prior initiative of the Foundation for Healthy Communities. Clint was deeply committed to strengthening the nursing profession, inspiring others to pursue nursing careers through his leadership, passion, and unwavering dedication. This award recognizes a registered nurse in New Hampshire who exemplifies compassionate, high-quality nursing care and demonstrates a steadfast commitment to the profession.

Jasmine’s dedication to her patients and the unwavering support she provides to your colleagues truly embodies the spirit of this award. We are incredibly proud of the compassion, excellence, and professionalism Jasmine brings to her work each day.

Congratulations on this well-deserved and remarkable honor!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The American Hospital Association and the Foundation for Healthy Communities and New Hampshire Hospital Association are working to raise awareness of
and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health conditions, as well as highlighting the ways how mental illness and addiction can affect all of us – patients, providers, families, and our society at large. Thanks, AHA, for this uplifting and empowering video.
