This afternoon at Thrive’s Emergency Shelter, we celebrated the strength, love, and resilience of mothers.

From laughter to heartfelt conversations, our Mother’s Day event was a beautiful reminder that every mom deserves to feel supported, appreciated, and celebrated.

We’re so grateful for the sense of community and connection shared throughout the afternoon.

A special thank you to Heidi Matthews Cantin for leading our guests in flower arranging and creating a meaningful experience for everyone.

April is National Volunteer Month, and we want to recognize the amazing individuals who give their time to lift others up. We couldn’t do this without them!

We want to highlight Paula, one of our amazing volunteers, for her advocacy and dedication to our mission. Paula shared her story and why she chose to volunteer with our agency: "As a survivor of child sexual trauma, I have never forgotten my experiences of feeling like damaged goods along with the fear, anxiety, shame and betrayal. Complex post traumatic stress disorder severely impacts normal childhood development with the trauma continuing into adulthood. Every act perpetrated by a sexual predator causes profound and lasting harm. I feel compelled to volunteer for THRIVE in hopes of alleviating the pain of my fellow survivors by promoting child safety especially advocating for uniform, high-level felony charges with no plea misdemeanors in all child victims."

We are incredibly grateful for her strength, as well as the generosity and compassion from the rest of our volunteers as well.

Want to honor all of our volunteers' work?
