🍲 GROW IS LOOKING FOR A
KITCHEN HERO! ❤️

Do you love food, people, and being part of something that actually makes a difference?

GROW Concord is looking for a volunteer Kitchen Manager to join us on Tuesdays at St. Matthew Lutheran Church!

Every week, our amazing chef creates the menu and orders the food. When the kitchen opens, we need someone who can jump in, bring good energy, and help make the magic happen.

As our Kitchen Manager, you’ll:
👩‍🍳 Help oversee the kitchen and volunteers
🥕 Make sure food prep and cooking run smoothly
🧤 Ensure safe food handling and our kitchen SOPs are followed
🍽️ Help keep everyone organized and the kitchen on track
😂 Most importantly — make sure our volunteers are having a GOOD TIME!

You don’t have to be a professional chef. You just need to be organized, dependable, comfortable working with people, and willing to get your hands a little messy. 😉

The commitment:
⏰ About 3 hours on Tuesdays
📅 Sometimes only 2 Tuesdays a month
📚 Safe Food Handling Certification is required — GROW will pay for your online certification!

❤️ WHY IT MATTERS

GROW Concord is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to serving our unhoused neighbors with food, dignity, compassion, and connection — without judgment.

The meals we prepare in this kitchen can feed up to 150 people who are homeless or simply need access to a hot, nutritious meal on a regular basis.

That means your three hours can become 150 warm meals, 150 full bellies, and 150 reminders that someone cares.

And honestly? There is something pretty wonderful about a kitchen full of people chopping, stirring, laughing, cooking, and knowing that what you’re making is going directly to someone who needs it. ❤️

🏳️‍🌈5th Annual Clayton Pride Parade! 🏳️‍🌈

At GROW, our motto is “Kindness Without Judgment,” and this year’s Clayton Pride Parade was a beautiful reminder of what that looks like in action.

This was our 3rd year participating, and as always, it was filled with smiling faces, great conversations, laughter, music, and a strong sense of community. We met so many kind people and were reminded how much we enjoy being part of local events that bring neighbors together.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, take photos, share stories, or support what we do. Clayton has really been stepping up with its kindness, and our unhoused and underserved neighbors have been responding. We’re now helping more people than ever get off the streets, get sober, and take positive steps forward because they know their community cares.

As much fun as these events are, they also remind us that the work we do year-round, six days a week, depends on community support. GROW is a nonprofit organization, and every program, service, and event we provide is funded through donations from people like you.

Join us in Downtown Clayton this Sunday for the Pride Parade! 🌈

This will be our third year participating, and every year we leave feeling inspired by the incredible sense of community. The atmosphere is peaceful, welcoming, inclusive, and full of amazing people who come together to celebrate love, authenticity, and connection.

Our sober squad is still going strong!

We’re proud to be part of such a positive event and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone again this weekend. Come enjoy the good vibes, support the community, and spend the day surrounded by kindness and acceptance. 💜

Wow — it’s been a busy week and it’s only Wednesday. Look at us GROW 💜

Tuesday

🕘 9:00–12:00
12 amazing people in the kitchen making it all happen.

🕓 4:00–5:00
75 people fed at Baldwin with roasted pork, veggie chili, and cornbread.

🕡 6:30–8:00
6 families plus volunteers — about 25 people served roasted chicken, potatoes, veggies, salad, and homemade croissants.

Wednesday

🍽 Lunch — St. Matthew’s weekly 3rd Generation gatheringRoasted pork, veggie chili, salad, and soft rolls.

🍗 Dinner — Cowell 30 servings of roasted chicken.

Thursday

🌮 Taco salad for 70–80 people at Baldwin.

🚿 Also — Dignity Center shower day!!!

And alongside all of this, we’re grateful for organizations like Winter Nights Family Shelter, providing shelter, meals, support services, and hope to families experiencing homelessness in our community.

This is what community looks like. People showing up for each other. Every meal, every volunteer, every partnership matters.
