"Empowering Therapists, Educators, and Caregivers Through the DIR Model:" This one-hour presentation introduces the DIR Model as a framework for fostering meaningful connection, building developmental skills, encouraging creativity, and discovering moments of shared joy in early childhood. Drawing on several case studies from home, classroom, and clinic settings, the talk will explore how DIR principles can be practically applied to meet each child where they are, honoring their unique developmental profiles and individual sensory and processing differences. Attendees will learn strategies to recognize when mismatch occurs, interpret subtle cues of nervous system state changes, and thoughtfully adjust intervention to offer attunement, co-regulation, and meaning making with the child.

Alli Webber is a pediatric occupational therapist with over a decade of clinical experience across early intervention, school, and outpatient settings. Alli holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Tufts University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from Carnegie Mellon University, a background that informs her creative, child-centered approach to therapy.

Registration is free for NHAIMH members and $25 for non-members. See you there!

During the earliest months and years of life, a child’s brain is developing at an unparalleled rate, shaped by nurturing early experiences. Caring adults play a crucial role in fostering trust and safety, helping toddlers develop a sense of self and become confident explorers.

Research shows that all infants and toddlers need good health, strong families, and positive early learning experiences to ensure a strong start in life. Learn more: https://bit.ly/48NTLHw
