New Hampshire Peace Action provides outreach and education on peace and justice issues, organizes vigils and demonstrations, lobbies elected representatives, provides a quarterly newsletter and weekly email list of upcoming events, and provides opportunities for direct action. Our current

Recent developments and intervention by the Trump Administration have brought our attention back to Latin America. There is a long history of U.S. invasions, coups and other interventions in the region which are important to know as we try to understand the news and the people whose lives and land our government is again disrupting. For many years, Jonathan Moller has photographed communities uprooted by war in Guatemala. His work tells stories of their struggles for survival, respect, and honesty. He will share his photographs and words to help us get to know the land and its history, and the humanity and dignity of the people there.

Jonathan “Jonás” Moller is an award-winning documentary photographer and human rights activist. Since 1991 Moller has worked mostly in Central America (primarily Guatemala), as well as in Peru and Cuba. He is the author of two books on Guatemala, a book about Peru, a book about the diversity of young Cubans today, a book about Black Lives Matter in 2020, and his most recent book, In Transit: In the Company of Strangers, published in 2024. Moller’s work is in numerous public and private collections and he has exhibited and spoken widely in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Moller’s photographs have been used by many NGOs for educational and advocacy purposes including the Soros Foundation, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

Regarding HB1793, a bill that would allow fi****ms on campus without restrictions:
The sponsor of the bill has attached this bill as a non-germane amendment to two (2!) bills: SB 408, requiring insurance coverage for adult prosthetics, and SB 498, relative to children's mental health services. What do "guns on campus" have in common with either of these bills? Nothing. This is just a way for legislators to pass a bad bill (HB1793) on the back of a good bill (SB 408 AND SB 498... not sure how that is even possible, yet here we are).
TOMORROW (Thursday, May 14) the House is voting on these amendments!
What can you do?
RIGHT NOW - Contact your elected officials to demand that they vote NO on the floor amendment to SB408 & SB498. The amendment, HB1793, allows guns on campus without restrictions. Tell House Speaker Packard and Gov Ayotte to urge legislators NOT to accept the Guns on Campus amendments and allow legislators to vote on SB406 & SB498 AS IS! Stop playing politics with our public safety and healthcare! CALL them if you can, if not - send an email:

Etan Mabourakh from the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) joins us to talk about the current situation in Iran. That will include the U.S./Israel attacks on Iran, what's happening inside the country, and the broader effects and issues.

Etan Mabourakh is a Jewish Iranian American political strategist, community organizer, and advocate for the Iranian American diaspora. He currently serves as Organizing Manager at the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and as a Board Member at Brooklyn For Peace. Etan’s advocacy sits at the intersection of anti-war organizing, civil rights, and immigrant justice. At NIAC, he leads grassroots mobilization across the country — running a nationwide volunteer chapter network, Know Your Rights trainings, deportation defense workshops, pro-peace campaigns and community organizing in response to the targeting of Iranian Americans by ICE and the U.S. war against Iran. He has advocated for War Powers Resolutions to reassert Congressional authority over the use of military force, opposed U.S. complicity in war crimes, and supported Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block weapons transfers to Israel. Quoted in the New York Times, CNN, Middle East Eye, Gothamist and Truthout, and has appeared on WBAI’s Beyond the Pale, in an interview with Tara Riva, the Katie Halper Show, and Breaking Points bringing the Iranian American community’s perspective into national and international conversations on war, diplomacy, and diaspora rights.
