A powerful reminder from our September Lean-In Circle: confidence is something we build—one step, one opportunity, and one promise to ourselves at a time. Thank you, Chrissie Davis, for sharing your story with PWB Bay Area! ❤️

It is probably no surprise that I am passionate about women in construction. I believe some of the most valuable perspectives in any room often come from the people who see things a little differently. But when you're the minority voice in that room, speaking up can be intimidating. And those nugget...

What makes PWB Bay Area special? The women who show up, connect, lead, mentor, learn, and support one another. As we wrap up PWB Week, we’re celebrating the women who make up our local PWB Bay Area community, from our board and committees to our members, volunteers, speakers, mentors, and friends across the industry.

This year has been filled with connection, collaboration, education, leadership, and plenty of moments to celebrate. Here’s a look back at some of the women and moments that made this year special.

To every woman who has been part of our PWB Bay Area community: thank you for being part of it.

Here’s to continuing to lift each other up, open doors, share our wisdom, and build what’s next together.

PWB Week Highlight

One of the things that makes PWB so special is its commitment to giving back to the community and inspiring the next generation.
Through events like Rock the Block with the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro, PWB members connect with kids and families, share what it’s like to work in the homebuilding industry, and introduce young people to the many career paths available in our field.
It’s more than building homes, it’s building connections, creating opportunities, and inspiring the future of our industry.

We’re proud of the impact PWB Bay Area continues to make in our communities!

Pass the Pearl: Advice for the Next Generation

The best advice is often the advice we receive from those who have walked the path before us. For PWB Week, we asked women in residential construction: “What is one piece of advice you would give a young woman starting her career in residential construction?”

From taking chances and finding your voice to building relationships, staying curious, and believing in yourself, our members shared the lessons they’ve learned along the way.

Today, we’re passing the pearl from one generation to the next.

Swipe through to hear their words of wisdom and then share your own advice in the comments. What do you wish someone had told you when you were starting out?
