Congratulations to the UNH School of Nursing on celebrating its first anniversary!

New Hampshire Hospital Association Executive Vice President Kathy Bizarro-Thunberg and HealthForce NH Senior Director Maureen Znoj were pleased to join University of New Hampshire leaders and health care partners to recognize this important milestone. As New Hampshire's largest school of nursing, the School is helping develop the next generation of nurses and strengthen the workforce that hospitals and health care organizations across our state rely on.

We are grateful for UNH's partnership and its commitment to preparing skilled, compassionate nursing professionals for New Hampshire communities.

Thank you Keith Baldi and Gillian McCarron for hosting my visit to Southern New Hampshire Health. It was great to see how the hospital and health care system are expanding to serve more of the community's growing needs. With a new pharmacy set to open this month, and a state-of-the-art heart & vascular center launching at the start of 2027, there is a lot to be proud of!

National Paper Airplane Day was back on May 26th, but our flight was delayed due to busy schedules and sickness. We finally cleared the runway today, however, for our annual office paper airplane contest! From impressive launches to crash landings, there was no shortage of laughter. Congratulations to our winner, Kris Hering, Vice President of Quality Improvement for the Foundation for Healthy Communities! While others experienced turbulence, your paper airplane soared above the competition!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. The American Hospital Association and the New Hampshire Hospital Association and Foundation for Healthy Communities are working to raise awareness of and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health conditions, as well as highlighting the ways how mental illness and addiction can affect all of us – patients, providers, families, and our society at large.
