n Oct. 2025, we did this for Bobbie Canada and hung it in our Community/Training Room - Bobbie did get a kick out of it. Yesterday around 1800 hr. Bobbie Canada passed away peacefully at the age of 92.
He retired from BAS in 2024. When he joined back in 1978 it was the Brookline Volunteer First Responder Association which then later evolved into the Brookline Ambulance Service. When he retired in 2024 he was a fully licensed active EMT at the age of 90!! He gave us 46 years of incredible volunteer service. In addition to taking care of many sick and injured persons in Brookline and Mason New Hampshire, he recruited, mentored, and educated several of the past and present members of the Department. He also was very involved with the Brookline Historical Society and the faith-based Communities. His kindness, giving nature, and humility grew into foundational traits of the Brookline Ambulance Department. He was a Gentleman's Gentleman. Although we are sad that he departed, we do take solace in knowing that he is again with his wife Marilyn. They were Husband and Wife for over 70 years and now are reunited watching over us. Thank You Bobbie!!!

A new addition to our Community Room....

46 years of service - a true VOLUNTEER EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!!

The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health Community Star Recognition Program honors exceptional contributions to rural health. This year, we nominated Dr. Edward "Ed" Duffy as New Hampshire’s Community Star.

For more than 36 years, Dr. Duffy served with vision, compassion, and leadership at Littleton Regional Healthcare. As an Emergency Department physician and champion of workforce housing, a new electronic medical record system, innovations like robotic surgery, Mobile Integrated Healthcare, and many other initiatives, Dr. Duffy worked to increase access to high-quality care in his community.

Dr. Duffy’s legacy will continue to shape patient care for years to come. We deeply appreciate his dedication to rural health!

We love to see members of our community, past and present, do amazing things for the profession!

We're incredibly proud to celebrate the launch of the "Interactive EMS History Timeline," a groundbreaking new resource from EMS Clinician, educator, and former National Registry team member Donnie Woodyard Jr.

This first-of-its-kind digital archive traces the evolution of EMS from the Civil War to today, with over 150 milestones. What makes it truly special is its direct links to primary source documents, allowing you to engage with our history like never before.
As Donnie says, “Understanding our history isn’t nostalgic—it’s strategic.”

This is an invaluable tool for every Clinician, educator, and leader. Explore the timeline and rediscover our roots!
