In memory of Peter James I listened to the Shaw Brothers today.Peter was a close fan👌
His vast knowledge of the history and design of the Concord
Coach was surpassed by his sense of humour and open friendship to all.❤️

The Abbot-Downing Historical Society greatly mourns the loss of C. Peter James,
a Renaissance Man who generously shared his great talents and wide knowledge
all through the 82 years of his long, productive, and interesting lifetime.

Peter passed away on December 10, 2025, after bravely facing a longtime illness.
We marveled at his courage and strength over the past years, as he strove to
persevere in all his activities and to stay at home with Verna, his beloved wife
and partner of 60 years.

Obituaries online report his life story, including his careers and many interests.
For the Abbot-Downing Historical Society, he was a leading light in all our
activities, an archivist with the Abbot-Downing history stored in his mind and
shared with audiences for decades, an ambassador who brought our coaches and our
information to fairs and historical programs and movie theatres -- all always with
enthusiasm and kindness.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 10m 2026, at the Grantham Town Hall
at 300 Route 10 South, Grantham, NH. A calling hour will begin at 10, followed by
the service at 11 during which anyone wanting to share a story will have an
opportunity to speak. More stories can be shared afterwards during a luncheon.

The heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Verna and the James family.
Letters may be sent to Box 627, Grantham 03753

🎉 Celebrating 10 Years of Craftsmanship — Thank You, Maurice! 🎉

We are proud to honor a decade of incredible dedication and talent from Maurice!

From his early days in cabinet building to the art of wagon restoration, Maurice has continually expanded his skills and risen to every challenge. As our wainwright—and our in-house upholstery expert—his craftsmanship shows in every vehicle he repairs and builds.

But what truly sets Maurice apart is who he is behind the scenes—steady, humble, helpful, and always ready to pitch in wherever he’s needed. 🤝 His dedication and teamwork make our entire shop stronger.

🎉 Maurice, thank you for 10 incredible years of skill, passion, and commitment. We’re grateful for everything you bring to our team! 👏
