is a Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist, dramatic soprano, writer, and composer originally from Los Angeles. Her work spans opera, literature, and original music, exploring memory, identity, folklore, and the stories that shape how we understand ourselves and one another. As a dramatic soprano, she performs throughout Europe and the United States with a repertoire centered on the works of Wagner, Strauss, Verdi, and Puccini. In spring 2026, she presented the lecture-recital Wagner’s Women for the Wagner Society of Scotland, examining the influence of Minna Planer, Mathilde Wesendonck, and Cosima Wagner on the female characters in Wagner’s operas. She is the recipient of awards from the Wagner Society of Northern California, multiple awards from the Wagner Society of New York, and Harlem Opera Theater. Alongside her performance career, Sarai writes fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and songs, and is the founder of BIPOC Writers Berlin, a community dedicated to supporting and celebrating Black and Brown writers.
Kellan Dunlap is a frequent performer of opera and song literature, praised for his “impressive tenor with a flowing, bright delivery” and “commanding stage presence” (Opera Today). A winner of the Presser Foundation’s 2024 Theodore Presser Music Award, he also earned first place in the National Student Auditions of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, was a semi-finalist in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition, a finalist in the Federation of the Art Song Competition, and a quarterfinalist in the Wigmore Hall/Bollinger International Song Competition. In 2025, Dunlap joined the Internationales Opernstudio at the Staatstheater Nürnberg, where his performances include Gastone in La Traviata, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte, Abdallo in Nabucco, Killian in Der Freischütz, and Der Haushofmeister bei der Feldmarschallin in Der Rosenkavalier. In the 2026-2027 season, Dunlap will join the Opera Ensemble at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven.
