Sveaborg Lodge # 449 is a fellowship that shares a common interest in Nordic culture and heritage. Lindström, June 30, 1924 in Concord CA. Members of Sveaborg Lodge celebrate many Nordic customs and occasions, often with music, Nordic cuisine, and costume. Members of Sveaborg Lodge typically come together in the evening on the third Friday of every month for a social program and meeting. Our meeti

ngs are dress casual, are performed in English, are conducted with minimal ritual and formality, and are for all ages. Most of our meetings are open for guests. At our meeting you can meet members with different interests in the Nordic culture such as, cooking, crafts, dancing, film, genealogy, literature, music and travel. You can also meet with people who talk the your ancestors language. Membership is open to men and women over 14 years of age of Nordic roots, (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish or Icelandic,) and their spouses who would like to rediscover the traditions of their forefathers; and those who are not of Nordic ancestry but are committed to the promotion and advancement of Swedish and Nordic heritage and culture. If you do not wish to apply for membership at this time, but are interested in Nordic culture or heritage, you are most welcome at our open events.

Sveaborg Lodge # 449 is a fellowship that shares a common interest in Nordic culture and heritage. Sveaborg is a member of Vasa Order of America. Members of Sveaborg Lodge typically come together in the evening on the third Friday of every month for a program and dinner. The dinner is traditional Swedish dinner. For more information see the calendar. Most of the members are from central Contra Costa and western Solano counties (Concord, Walnut Creek, Martinez, Pleasant Hill, Antioch, Danville, Benicia and Fairfield). We also have members from as far as Berkeley, Livermore, Oakland, Castro Valley, Novato and Redding

At our meeting you can meet members with different interests in the Nordic culture such as, cooking, crafts, dancing, film, genealogy, literature, music and travel. You can also meet with people who talk your ancestor’s language.

Sveaborg has an annual Christmas dinner, including traditional Swedish food, such as herring, Jansson’s Temptation, meatballs and ham. Home-made glögg is also served. After dinner, there is a Lucia celebration with the children from the Children’s club performing all the traditional Swedish Christmas songs.
