Summer Camp 2018 Day 4: So much activity today and no photos to show for it. Leaders at the waterfront learning how to keep scouts safe on the water; leaders spending time on the shotgun range; scouts moving from class to class and in between all of this we got a total of 18 drops of rain. The troop across the street thanked us for inviting them to our movie last night by baking a delicious dutch oven bread pudding. Will is out of camp with the Wilderness Survival group so there will be good stories to tell tomorrow. One more day of fun and scouting ahead!

Summer Camp 2018 Day 3: The heat has returned and the phrase for today was drink water and wear sunscreen! Momma bird is doing her job and no news from the scouts on egg watch. Lot of excitement as Kaleb crossed the 1/2 mile mark on his way to the Mile Swim Award, our first year scouts Dax, Jacob, Hayden, and Cameron helped lower the camp flags at assembly, Will and David found the sharp end of their pocket knives and were the first to need first aid. Conner and Cooper were also elected as the newest Ordeal Candidates for the Order of the Arrow. Pizza and movie tonight then rest and ready to do it again tomorrow.

Summer Camp 2018 Day 2: Another great sunrise on the shore of Badin Lake. Ran into our two favorite staff members this morning! Sessions are in full swing and scouts are in and out of camp all day. First year scouts are learning more and getting confident enough to buy their first pocket knife (Nighthawks! Whoop! Whoop!) Even the leaders found time to do a little training. Some scouts are starting to find interesting places to nap. We found a side project as the scouts are on bird egg watch. Hoping to see some baby birds before week end. The big Wednesday night campfire is tomorrow and who knows what might happen there?

Summer Camp 2018 Day 1: The morning was cool and the sun greeted us over the lake. 4 Scouts had the honor of raising the camp colors before breakfast then it was off to their first classes. Kaleb and Alex started training for the mile swim in the afternoon and are starting to develop gills. Everyone is settling into a routine and looking forward to what tomorrow brings.
