This is why it’s so important to support not just the so-called ‘essentials’ for these young women. But to also support their identities as athletes. They fought too hard to be forced to abandoned their sport.
Women’s sports is not going to exist in Afghanistan in coming months & likely years. It would be really important for Afghan women’s sports to stay alive outside the country. They need just not a new home but one where they can continue to be a team.

Afghanistan is headed for famine as a consequence of international financial restrictions that are throttling the private and public sectors, destroying the healthcare system and getting aid into the country.
