🐾💜 HARBOR’S NEW BEGINNING — A STORY OF SECOND CHANCES 💜🐾

Today our hearts are FULL. 🥹❤️ Our sweet Harbor, the beautiful little female Pomeranian we found and took into our care, has officially begun a brand-new chapter in her life. 🐶✨ Through Front Porch Community Partnership — our nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people, families, and animals in our community when there is a need — we were blessed to connect and partner with Wet Noses Animal Rescue in Blue Ridge, Georgia, where Harbor will now be surrounded by people who understand her needs and can provide the specialized care she deserves. 🏡🐾💕

We were also excited to learn about Wet Noses Animal Rescue's connection with country music superstar and longtime animal-rescue advocate Miranda Lambert 🎶🤠🐾 through her nonprofit, MuttNation Foundation. ❤️ It is a beautiful reminder of just how powerful rescue can be when organizations, communities, and people who love animals come together for one purpose — giving animals another chance. 🙏🏽🐾

Harbor came to us needing help, especially with her teeth, which had become severely deteriorated. 💔🦷 Now she will be able to receive the dental care she desperately needs, including having her bad teeth removed, and she will also be spayed. 🙏🏽❤️‍🩹 And perhaps the sweetest part of all? 🥰 Harbor is now surrounded by other Pomeranians! 🐕🐕🐕💕 She has entered her own little Pomeranian sanctuary where she can heal, receive the care she deserves, and continue her journey surrounded by love.

Sometimes rescue isn't about keeping an animal forever. ❤️ Sometimes it's about being the BRIDGE 🌉 that gets them from where they were to where they were always meant to be. 🐾✨

Sean and I are incredibly grateful that our nonprofit, Front Porch Community Partnership, was able to play a part in Harbor's journey. We loved her enough to recognize when another organization could provide the specialized care and environment she needed for this next chapter. 🥹🙏🏽💜

✨🐾❤️ Sometimes the greatest acts of love happen when no one is watching. ❤️🐾✨

Meet Farrah Fossette. 🐶🤍

This sweet pit bull mix had been abandoned in our neighborhood since the winter of 2025, simply trying to survive. 💔❄️🌧️ Every day our hearts broke watching her fend for herself.

My husband and I couldn't turn away. ❤️🙏 We opened our home, our hearts, and yes, our pockets to keep her safe, warm, fed, and loved while we searched for the future she deserved. 🏡🥣🐾💕

One of the hardest parts was knowing that our county only has a kill shelter—not a placement shelter where dogs can safely wait for adoption or rescue. 😢🐕 That made it even more important for us to step in and give Farrah a chance. ❤️

Many people in our county also don't realize that if you step in to care for a stray by providing food, water, and shelter, after the required seven-day stray hold, if no owner comes forward, that dog is legally considered yours. 📋⚖️🐾 We honored that process every step of the way because Farrah deserved every opportunity for a better life.

Then something beautiful happened. 🌈✨ An amazing family saw our plea, opened their hearts, and simply said, "We'll take her." 🥹❤️🏡🐾

Today, Farrah Fossette has been in her forever home for nearly a month. 🏡💕 She is safe, loved beyond measure, and finally living the life she always deserved. 🐶🌸💖

Not every rescue begins with an organization. Sometimes it begins with ordinary people making an extraordinary choice to care. 🤝❤️🐾

Enjoy your beautiful new life, sweet Farrah Fossette. You were worth every mile, every dollar, every moment, every prayer, and every tear. We will never forget you. 🐶💕🌈🙏✨

🤎🐾 ONE HEART. ONE MISSION. 🐾🤎

🏡❤️ At Front Porch Community Partnership, we open our hearts and our home to the dogs that have nowhere else to turn. 🐶💕

Yesterday, our sweet neighbor found a tiny chocolate Pomeranian wandering alone in the road. 🚗💔 She didn’t know what else to do, so she brought her to us. ❤️🙏

This precious little girl was:
🦟 Covered in fleas
🦷 Suffering from severe dental disease
😢 Missing proper care
💔 Clearly neglected

It was obvious she had been through far more than any dog ever should. 🥺🐾

⚓🤎 We affectionately named her Harbor because a harbor is a safe place—a refuge after rough waters. 🌊❤️

We chose that name to honor her journey and the safety, love, and hope we’re determined to give her. 🏡🐾✨

Since arriving, Harbor has already:
🛁 Received a flea bath
💉 Been vaccinated
📍 Been microchipped
❤️ Received lots of love and comfort

Now she’s looking for the one thing every dog deserves…

❤️🖤💚 Happy Juneteenth from The Front Porch Community Partnership ❤️🖤💚

Today, we honor June 19, 1865—the day the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth is not just Black history. It is American history.

It is a day to reflect on the sacrifices of those who endured slavery, celebrate the resilience of generations who fought for freedom and equality, and recommit ourselves to building stronger, more united communities for future generations.

At The Front Porch Community Partnership, we believe that community begins with understanding, compassion, and opportunity for all. We recognize that the journey toward equality and justice is ongoing, and we are committed to doing our part by creating programs, partnerships, and events that bring people together rather than divide them.

Today we celebrate freedom.
We celebrate perseverance.
We celebrate culture.
We celebrate community.

May we continue to learn from our past, work together in the present, and build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren.

As we celebrate Juneteenth, it’s important to remember that slavery wasn’t just about forced labor. It was also about the systematic destruction of Black families.

For generations, enslaved mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, and wives were bought, sold, and separated. Families were intentionally broken apart through slave auctions, estate settlements, and the domestic slave trade. Loved ones could be taken away with little warning and never seen again.

Juneteenth matters because it marks the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free—more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been issued. Freedom was not simply a moment in history; it was the beginning of a long struggle to rebuild families, communities, economic opportunity, and human dignity.

Some people ask, “Why are we still talking about this in 2026?” The answer is simple: history doesn’t disappear just because time passes. The effects of policies, practices, and injustices can echo through generations. Understanding that history isn’t about assigning blame to people living today—it’s about acknowledging what happened, honoring those who endured it, and learning from it.

Juneteenth is not about division. It’s about truth, remembrance, resilience, and celebrating the strength of a people who survived unimaginable hardship and continued to build, contribute, and persevere.

We cannot fully appreciate how far we’ve come without first understanding where we’ve been.
