Unearth & Empower Communities (UEC) is a grassroots movement rooted in Compton, Ca since 2013, dedicated to building with people, eliminating poverty, and leading with justice—one neighborhood at a time. Unearth and Empower Communities works alongside city residents, officials, organizations and businesses to develop interdependent neighborhoods by training and empowering people to transform their communities.

🧠➕💚 MATH + MINDFULNESS = A DIFFERENT KIND OF MATH CAMP!

This Saturday, we’re bringing Math & Mindfulness to The Lab for a FREE day of hands-on learning for 3rd–8th graders!

Because learning math isn’t only about getting the right answer. It’s also about building confidence, working through challenges, problem-solving, taking risks, and learning that it’s okay to make mistakes along the way. 🙌🏽

UEC and 21st Century STEM are creating a space where our young people can strengthen their math skills while also building the mindset and confidence to keep going when things get challenging.

🎨 SAVE THE DATE: THE ART OF COMMUNITY

Something special is coming to Compton.

On Saturday, February 13, 2027, Unearth & Empower Communities invites you to spend the day with us for The Art of Community — our Annual Cultural Benefit.

This isn’t your typical fundraiser.

We’re creating an afternoon and evening where culture, creativity, community and opportunity come together—all while raising critical funds to create pathways for Compton’s young people through the arts, STEAM, workforce development, college access and entrepreneurship.

There will be different ways to experience the day, whether you’re coming with family, gathering with friends, or joining us for the evening. Some opportunities will be free and some will require tickets.

We have SO much more to share. 👀
