Nonprofit of the Year 🏆

​This award hits different. As 1st-generation Mexican Americans, we carry a deep pride in representing our Latino community in Compton.

​For too long, our community has faced a lack of representation, limited resources, and scarce opportunities. But we refused to let our history be forgotten. Our mission is to keep our beautiful Ranchero culture, traditions, and lifestyle alive against all odds, creating a space where our youth can connect with their roots and thrive.

🌾🐴 RANCH CAMP 2026 — NOW OPEN! 🐐🌱

Calling all youth ages 10–17! Join us this summer for an opportunity to connect with animals, agriculture, horsemanship, and the rich ranching traditions that make communities like Richland Farms so special.

📅 Dates: June 23 – July 16
🕓 When: Tuesdays & Thursdays | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Today, so many of us are becoming disconnected from the land, its animals, and the beautiful lifestyle we know as ranching. With every generation, that disconnect grows greater — and if that gap becomes too wide, we risk losing these traditions altogether.

At Connecting Compton, we are committed to closing that gap by creating access and opportunities for the next generation to experience, learn, and become leaders in urban ranching and agriculture. 🌱🤎

Through Ranch Camp, youth will gain hands-on experiences, build confidence, learn responsibility, and develop a deeper connection to nature, animals, and community.

¡Llamando a todos los jóvenes de 10 a 17 años! Únase a nosotros este verano para tener la oportunidad de conectarse con los animales, la agricultura, la equitación y las tradiciones de rancho que hacen que comunidades como Richland Farms sean tan especiales.

But our community sees something more.

We’re organizing to transform this space into the Compton Multi-Cultural Equestrian Center — a place for culture, youth programs, and opportunity.

This is about making a positive change, investing in our future, and building something that reflects us.

Hello everyone,

Our item is back on the City Council agenda — Item #6 under New Business.

We’re requesting site access to the 18-acre Alondra landfill lot to conduct environmental studies and determine if it’s suitable for our vision of the Compton Multi-Cultural Equestrian Center. This does not give us control or exclusive access—just the ability to evaluate the site.

We’re disappointed to inform the Site Access Agreement was pulled from today’s agenda. Right now, it’s expected to be rescheduled for Tuesday, April 7 (pending confirmation).

We’re so grateful for all of your support and messages. It means everything. We hope to see you there when it’s back.

Enrique brings more than 20 years of public affairs and government relations experience across Southeast Los Angeles. He is passionate about preserving the ranchero lifestyle and honoring the cultural traditions of his forefathers, proudly passing them on to the next generation—including his daughters.

We’re honored to have Enrique join the Connecting Compton family!
