The Friends of Proud Lake is a non-profit volunteer organization established to assist the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in preserving and protecting the natural, cultural and historical features of Proud Lake State Park. The Friends aid in providing educational and recreational opportunities for Park visitors. We appreciate your positive participation and contributions and look forward to future events, the growth of the Group and the positive experiences in the Park!

Proud Lake Modern Campgrounds' 4th of July Bike Parade!!!! Friday 4th of July- Meet at Host Area 10am to pick up free bike parade decorations then decorate your bike! You are also welcome to bring your own bike decorations: -) Line up starting at 11am to bike around the Campground- prizes will be awarded!! Free coffee starting at 9am. Free popcorn during and after parade. Sponsored by the Friends of Proud Lake. Want to learn more about us? We need Friends!
Volunteers are needed at the Proud Lake Modern Campgrounds for Friends' Activities- come for 1 to check us out ;-) You are welcome to come for more! Assist with free coffee and bagels at the Host site on Saturdays 7:30am - 10:30am in July, August, September and beginning of October.
Assist with our Ice cream Social! Kids bike parade Labor Day weekend- Harvestfest Oct 4th-6th!! Contact Lisa for more information [email protected].

Trusses are on - roofing is ongoing. . . Thank you to Scout BSA volunteers! Thank you Jen and Steve DNR Proud Lake staff! Thank you Dick Russell for project management! Happy Early Valentine's Day!
While The Proud Lake Recreation Area is open for public use tomorrow, as every day, for hiking and other winter activities with appropriate social distancing and masks as currently recommended, due to current State/DNR safety regulations there is no formal event on Feb. 14th. If you go to the park - wear RED and take selfies to show your Love for the Proud Lake RA!
Please note: the Annex will not be open for use under current DNR safety regulations. Please check in after March 29th for an update on the status of Spring 2021 activities!

The Annual New Years Day Event is delayed until February 14th: 1pm - 6pm. This delay is mainly due to a combination of new Covid regulations in combination with an impending ice storm today...
On Feb. 14th - Love Proud Lake RA in family units and social distancing for hiking - cross country skiing - snow shoeing - check back here by the end of January for more details and to see whether kayak and canoe rentals will be available!
