Have a safe a Happy 4th of July! Remember our birds don't like those fireworks either.

If Montana can get their power co. to help we can too. United Power CO in not listening to just one voice alone. Please, if you want to help, go ahead and call 303-637-1300 and ask to speak to their environmental staff. Reference the APLIC document Suggested Practices for Avian Protection on Power Lines: The State of the Art in 2006. Mention our nest location at Brighton Rd near 120th that came down May 15th, 2019 when a dump truck knocked down several electrical poles. They promised us they would look into coming back to raise a platform. Thank you for your help!

It's American Eagle Day! We have lots of Golden and Bald Eagles in Henderson. Anyone catch a photo today or on any other day? If we had an amazing camera we might see one in the trees. (Attached photo, I cheated, I took this beauty at the Cheyenne Zoo when I visited a few weeks ago.)

Just saw an long legged white egret at our dismantled nesting site. Too fast to catch a picture however found this link as to why our lil area is so important. What will you see this weekend?

Location: The site is located along the South Platte River in central Colorado, specifically from the south city limits of Denver north into Adams County to 136th Avenue.

Thanks to fan, Katie Arvidson she spotted another Osprey at her post this afternoon. We can only speculate it's her mate waiting for her to come home. Very sad. But gives me renewed hope to continue. Should we??

We are very sorry to report, the Henderson female Osprey that has been hanging out (exactly where her nest was knocked down in a construction accident) has been found dead today. RIP sweet girl. We really tried to get you your a brand new nest pole. I'm so sorry humans failed you. Thank you giving us the opportunity to photograph your beauty and remind us the importance of Colorado Nature and Wildlife.

Good Morning Osprey fans! For those who are new, our Henderson nest was knocked down by contractors in a truck accident last month. They are excavating dirt from one side of the road and filling a private lake on the othere side of Brighton Rd across the street. This truck's boom was up and knocked down several electrical poles including the Osprey nest which had Mom, Dad and their eggs. We have been trying for 3 weeks now to get Colorado Parks and Rec to help us however they deemed the nest not viable. Now we are waiting for United Power to respond to our plea. It's just a platform we are asking for help. A safe platform off the electrical pole but next to it so the nesting site can continue nest season where all of us have enjoyed them for several years. Thank you for listening and sharing this site.

Meanwhile 10 minutes away, Barr Lake Osprey are enjoying a good catch. Enjoy!

Good Morning Henderson Osprey Fans!
Yesterday was productive. We finally were able to meet one on one in person with United Power Co. (The owners of the poles that were knocked down by the careless truck driver on May 14th). Internal memos were typed, calls were made. Names and phone numbers exchanged. We are not giving up!
