Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates Latino culture and heritage. It also highlights the ways in which United States (U.S.) Hispanic people have contributed to our country throughout history.
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 until October 15. We celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
September 15 is a significant date, as it is the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.
The UPS Technology Group (UTG) is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month with our Crecer, the Hispanic/Latino Business Resource Group (LBRG) chapter. Our UTG chapter started with two people around this time of year. Today, our chapter has a reach of more than 500 people across the organization, as one of the approximately 17 LBRG chapters around the world, with several thousand members. Please join us all as we celebrate a wide variety of Latino cultures throughout the month.
