Militants killed four national translators and injured several others in a raid on a translation office in the Middle East. They shot and destroyed all the equipment in the office including the Print On Demand (POD) equipment. The invaders burned all the books and other translation materials in the office. Two workers died of gunshot wounds. Two other workers laid on top of the lead translator—saved his life—and died deflecting bludgeoning blows from the radicals’ spent weapons.

The New Testament has been translated
in about half of Peru’s 93 local languages. But many local peoples
continue to practice a form of traditional religion, blended with
Christian elements. They often look to the spirits and ancient legends for guidance. Imagine the impact God’s Word would have if all Peruvians knew how to
use translated Scripture and put its truths into practice each day.
Learning to walk with Jesus brings change to hearts, lives and entire cultures.

In the process of freeing up those on the field to focus on translation, more than 50,000 people now serving in various capacities in Wycliffe Associates also find themselves using their unique gifts to serve God.
