Hoover Police Investigating Missing Person

On 7/13/2023 at approximately 9:34 PM the Hoover 911 Center received a call from a 25-year-old female on I-459 South near mile marker 11 who reported she saw a toddler walking on the side of the interstate. After calling 911 the caller stopped to check on the child and called a family member to report the same details. The family member lost contact with her, but the line remained open. Officers who were already en route to the location of the initial 911 call located the female’s vehicle and some of her belongings nearby, but were unable to find her or a child in the area. Hoover Police have not received any other calls of someone missing a small child.

Detectives are currently investigating this incident and are requesting the public’s assistance to help locate the missing person. She is identified as Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, a 25-year-old black female who is 5’4, 150-160 lbs. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white Nike shoes. Anyone who believes they may have seen Russell or may have any information about this case is asked to call Detective Brad Fountain at 205-444-7562. A photo of Russell is attached.

WASHINGTON, D.C. –– On Tuesday and Wednesday, Just Democracy coalition members Stephany Spaulding and Shenika Carter joined Take Back the Court for the and Demand Justice for the lobby day, both calling for our federal courts to be reformed. During Demand Justice’s lobby day, people from across the country gathered in Washington D.C. on the anniversary of Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to lobby elected officials to pass the Judiciary Act, which would add four seats to the Supreme Court in order to balance the seats stolen by President Donald Trump.

“Our judiciary has never represented the true diversity of America, and it’s about time that we had a Supreme Court that looks more like us deciding the fate of pivotal cases on abortion, criminal justice, gun control, and more,” said Shenika Carter, Coalition Member of Just Democracy and Founder and Executive Director of Caravan 4 Racial Justice.

We need real change. Now more than ever. Join the fight for bold democratic reforms: JustDemocracy.us
