PREDATORY PUBLISHING
Ten years ago, I wrote my first book. A book to help people live better lives. I put everything I had learned from decades of reading, listening, researching what makes people do what they do. Unfortunately, my publisher at the time neither liked my title nor my idea for a book cover, and so the book was published under a different title with a different look than I had originally intended.
Then, that same publisher sold his company to another publisher who within four months announced he was putting the book out of print. If I wanted the rights to publish it, I had to pay him thousands of dollars, which I ended up doing. That's why we started our own publishing house to prevent others from being victims of predatory publishers.
Today the print proof of the book arrived.
Now, on the 10th anniversary year of publishing the original book, I have updated, edited, and retitled the book (back to its original title), given it a new cover and I am re-publishing it through our own publishing house.
This year, on April 3rd (my birthday) I am re-publishing (releasing) my first book.
