Did you know the four H’s stand for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health? 💚

🧠 Head – Managing, thinking, and learning to make good decisions.
❤️ Heart – Caring for others and showing compassion.
🙌 Hands – Giving back through service and helping our communities.
💚 Health – Taking care of ourselves and making healthy choices.

These four H’s are at the heart of everything 4-H does, helping young people grow into confident, caring, and capable leaders!

🍀Thankful Thursday! 🍀

As we celebrate National 4-H Week, today we’re taking a moment to be thankful for the incredible people who make 4-H so special!

🌟 We’re thankful for our 4-H members who show up, try new things, work hard, learn from challenges, and grow along the way.

🌟 We’re thankful for our club officers who step up as leaders and help guide our club.

🌟 We’re thankful for our adult leaders who give their time, encouragement, knowledge, and support to help our youth succeed.

🌟 And we’re thankful for the parents, grandparents, families, volunteers, mentors, and community members who cheer our kids on and support them throughout their 4-H journey.

4-H is so much more than projects and fair exhibits. It’s a place where kids can discover their interests, build confidence, develop leadership skills, learn responsibility, make lifelong friendships, serve their communities, and become the leaders of tomorrow. 🌱💚

Today, we’re thankful for EVERYONE who helps make the 4-H experience possible! We couldn’t do it without you! 💚

🍀 Thinking About Joining 4-H? 🍀

As a new school year begins, it's a great time to learn about all the opportunities 4-H has to offer!

The Comfrey Comets would love to welcome new members. And remember, 4-H is about much more than livestock and the fair. Kids can explore interests like gardening, robotics, photography, baking, woodworking, fishing, shooting sports, dogs, livestock, and so much more.

Through hands-on projects, youth develop valuable life skills including leadership, responsibility, public speaking, recordkeeping, community service, and teamwork. The fair is just one part of the experience. The real value is everything kids learn and accomplish throughout the year.

📅 The new 4-H year begins October 1.

If you're interested in joining 4-H, we recommend contacting the UMN Extension Brown County 4-H at 507-794-7993. They can help you find clubs, projects, and meeting information that fit your family's interests.

The Comfrey Comets meet on the first Sunday of each month at 3:00 PM, and we'd love to have you visit!

🐑 And no, you don't need to live on a farm or own livestock to be in 4-H. There are projects for nearly every interest. 📸 🌻

4-H helps kids build confidence, learn new skills, make friends, and discover new passions. We may be a little biased, but we think it's one of the best opportunities available for young people!

As we start the last day of the Brown County Free Fair we want to give a shout out to super-alumni Paige Green! She was show ring help for beef & sheep, announced the open class swine show, scholarship auction, and 4-H swine show. In between that all that she had a steady line of young ladies wanting their hair show ready and helping her brother prep animals! Thank you for all your help and for being an exceptional role model! You make us proud!
