She worked in the fields of Yolo, Colusa and Sutter Counties while raising her family. Eleanor gave all she had to her 17 children, her42 grand children, her 78 great grandchildren and 33 great-great grandchildren. Children were her life, and seeing them involved in sports, creative activities and performing arts gave her much pride. She was a very humble and generous person. Even though she lived
on a limited income she gave a $1.00 or two to charitable organizations, especially if they served children. Though she lived in Colusa for 51 years, she chose to stay anonymous in the community. After Mariano passed in 1972, she led a quiet and modest life in her home on Lodi Lane.Eleanor passed away on Valentines Day 2010 at age 91. She left her legacy of giving to her children, and we keep her memory alive through the Eleanor Azevedo Memorial Fund (Youth Empowermwnt service)
