These words… they’re not just words.
They’re my mom. 💜
Resilience.
Love.
Patience.
Dignity.
Moments.
Connection.
Family.
Before dementia, these words described her life.
After dementia, they became the way we learned to care for her.
My mom, Barb, taught me what it meant to show up—to stay until the end, to lead with kindness, and to love without conditions. Even when the words became harder for her, the meaning of who she was never changed.
Dementia didn’t just affect her.
It changed all of us.
It changed what “care” really means.
This is why My Mom’s Mind exists.
Because behind every diagnosis is a family holding on to these same words—trying to preserve dignity, connection, and stability while facing the overwhelming cost of care.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who served—and those who continue to fight battles we cannot always see.
Many veterans live with dementia, carrying not only memories of service, but also the weight of a disease that slowly changes how those memories are held and shared.
Today, we honor their courage, their sacrifice, and their dignity.
And we stand with the families who care for them every day.
💜 Freedom was never free.
💜 And care should never be carried alone.
