🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE EAGLE LAKE POLICE DEPARTMENT 🚨

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 11:48 p.m., a shooting occurred in the 400 block of 8th Street in Eagle Lake, Texas.
A 16-year-old male juvenile was struck in the left arm and is currently in stable condition.

The Eagle Lake Police Department is actively investigating this incident and is seeking any information that may lead to the identification and arrest of the suspect(s) involved.

On Friday, January 23, 2026, the Austin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary of a habitation in the New Ulm area off Bernard Road in Austin County. A report was taken for missing items, including a Polaris Ranger.

Thanks to the vigilance of neighbors, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, a neighbor in the area of Colorado County reported a male subject driving an ATV down the roadway and then hiding it in the woods on property not belonging to that subject. The neighbor reported the suspicious activity, and the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to the location.

The Polaris Ranger was located along with multiple other items that had been removed from the Austin County residence. The Polaris Ranger was confirmed to be stolen and was recovered by Colorado County.

On Monday, January 26, 2026, Investigator D. Hagen and Lt. V. Minyard with the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, along with Investigator Weido and Investigator Mican with the Colorado County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado County deputies, responded to a residence in Colorado County to execute an Austin County felony arrest warrant for probation violations related to Theft of Property >$30K =$2,500

🚨Updated information regarding the case listed below🚨

The Colorado County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) involved in the thefts of three side-by-side type vehicles taken between the night of Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and the early morning of Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from the Garwood, Texas area.

The suspects were observed to be associated with a white, unknown make and model four-door vehicle that was following one of the stolen side-by-sides on Arthur Street.

The photograph of the vehicle was obtained from a surveillance video at approximately 2:40 AM in Garwood. The Sheriff’s Office is asking citizens with surveillance cameras who have not previously provided video to check whether their cameras captured any activity between 2:30 AM and 2:55 AM on January 28, 2026.

The suspected route is from FM 950 to Arthur Street, then to Mansfield St, then to Lions Park Dr, then to SH-71, and then to FM 333.

The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the citizens of the Garwood area who have assisted and provided information in this investigation.
