Last night’s joint meeting with the Board of Education covered key topics: district realignment, lottery school enrollment, and transportation. Grateful to the many community members who attended and those who spoke during public comment. Your voices are essential in this process.
As a former candidate, I continue to speak out because there’s still work to do, even from this seat‼️
I raised concerns that the projections presented, while optimistic, didn’t fully reflect the impact of pending legislation around school turnover to charters, enrollment fluctuations, or the long-term budget implications for our innovative plans. I also emphasized that moving forward with rushed town halls risks excluding real community input when it’s needed most.
This work requires full transparency, bold truth-telling, and continued community involvement. I’ll keep showing up and speaking up because our students, families, and educators deserve thoughtful, realistic planning and lasting solutions!
