GEOS - Geoscience in Energy at Ohio State - A Student Chapter of AAPG & SEG The student chapter of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists at The Ohio State University

Founded in 2012, the Ohio State chapter of AAPG aims to develop the relationship and understanding between the energy industry and geoscience education at The Ohio State University. Through speakers, presentations, field experiences, conferences, and outreach, our goal is to maintain a bridge between students, the public, and the energy industry.

We want to thank Dr. Larry Garmezy, the AAPG Distinguished Lecturer Program, and Administration from the Dept for making this great educational opportunity today possible!!! 20 students (undergrad & grad) worked through an all day short course on Basin to Prospect Exploration of the Campos Basin. This IBA focused style short course served as a great foundational introduction to the diverse and integrative aspects of geoscience in industry. We hope to use this experience as a stepping stone towards our individual and student chapter development!!
