One of the most powerful skills you can teach your dog is focus - getting them to make eye contact with you on cue. When your dog is focused on you, distractions fade and training becomes much easier.
How to teach it:
1️⃣ Hold a treat near your eyes.
2️⃣ Say “Focus” or “Look.”
3️⃣ Reward the moment your dog makes eye contact.
4️⃣ Practice in short sessions and gradually add distractions.
Focus builds trust, improves obedience, and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

Our services at Heroes United include a 7-week professional dog training course and the rescue & adoption of a dog, matching them with a hero, all at no cost. This includes dog food, treats, crates, toys, and medical expenses for up to 12 months. This way, our heroes can focus on building a lasting bond with their new companions without financial stress.
