This is one of the hardest posts I’ve had to write. After a lot of reflection, I’ve decided to close WILD.
Many of you know I have battled Thyroid Cancer for the last 5 years - besides taking some time off to heal from surgeries or treatments - but I was able to bounce back, still physically be able to safely take all you amazing ladies out on adventures.
I thought the mountain of cancer had been conquered, but unfortunately was just diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Breast Cancer, which includes aggressive treatment. There is not one singular mountain ahead to climb but an entire range of mountains. My treatment will be long, physically hard, mentally taxing and will put me out of commission for an unknown time. Because of the long, personal trail ahead, I will be closing the doors of WILD. It’s not easy to step away from something I love, but it feels like the right and necessary thing for now.
WILD has meant so much to me, and for so many women too. — It has been a space for connection, creativity, and purpose. Together we built something real and beautiful, something that celebrated the wild parts of life and ourselves. I’ve met so many incredible people through this journey, and I’m endlessly grateful for every conversation, event, and shared moment of inspiration.
Thank you — truly — for being part of WILD. For believing in it, and for walking this path with me. The spirit of WILD will always live on in the connections we’ve made and the hearts it’s touched. Now it’s time for each of you to take the skills, knowledge, friendships and love for the outdoors to your own trails. Each of you are incredibly amazing, capable and strong. This mama bird is telling you it’s okay to fly from the nest. You got this!
In the coming weeks, we will be posting gear for sale. But that post is for another day.
Love you all so much.
With love and gratitude,
🩷 Sanna
