Who We Are: In 2002, members of Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. founde

The Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation (ASOEF) was founded by the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®- Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter in 2002. The primary motivation for starting the Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation was that of having a charitable organization that through a variety of funding channels could offer more programming to encourage and assist individua

ls in achieving educational excellence. The Foundation status also allowed for supporters to receive tax credits for donations they made to the Foundation supportive of the Foundation’s program efforts.

Yesterday, the Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation had the privilege of hosting scholarship interviews with an impressive group of high school seniors competing for one of our scholarships. We were inspired by their goals, accomplishments, and the bright futures ahead of them.

A heartfelt thank you to our team of community volunteer interviewers for giving up part of their Saturday to support this important process. Your time, thoughtfulness, and commitment mean so much.

Scholarship decisions will be announced the first week of May. We are grateful to every student who participated and wish each of them the very best.

🟢 Attention Parents of CURRENT 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. Applications are now open for our AKAdette youth mentoring program. The AKAdette program focuses on providing educational, social and leadership development, while engaging high school girls in community service. We seek young ladies who have demonstrated high moral and ethical standards, along with leadership and high scholastic qualities.

🟢 Applications are due on March 31st at 11:59 PM.

🟢 There will also be an optional information session on Wednesday, March 11th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Barnett Library.

Fellas, we didn’t forget about you. Throw on some denim 👖, swap out those pearls for a little panache, and come out and party with us, too!

We will have DJ Reesee on the 1s and 2s, delicious food, the BEST vibes, raffles, and more.

Individual tickets are $55 (includes one complimentary drink ticket) and can be purchased using the QR code in the flyer or at the link in our bio. *Tables and VIP tables also available.

Yesterday, the Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation supported the induction of new members into two of our signature youth groups - AKAdettes and ASOEF L.I.T.E. (Leaders In Training for Excellence).

The AKAdette program is for high school girls. Members are selected for their high ethical standards and scholastic achievement.

ASOEF L.I.T.E. is for middle school girls. The program aims to instill and enhance leadership skills and qualities before they embark on their high school journeys and beyond.

Young ladies in both programs participate in leadership training, workshops, community service, and mentoring throughout the year.

Join us in welcoming our newest youth program initiates and wishing all of our young ladies a successful school and program year!
