Who We Are: In 2002, members of Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. founde

The Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation (ASOEF) was founded by the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®- Alpha Sigma Omega Chapter in 2002. The primary motivation for starting the Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation was that of having a charitable organization that through a variety of funding channels could offer more programming to encourage and assist individua

ls in achieving educational excellence. The Foundation status also allowed for supporters to receive tax credits for donations they made to the Foundation supportive of the Foundation’s program efforts.

The Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation (ASOEF) spent yesterday afternoon engaging with community members at this year’s Uplift Her event. ASOEF spoke with students about academic achievement and scholarship opportunities, gave away children’s books, and shared information on our work in the community. Participants especially enjoyed our ✨positive affirmation station✨ where they selected and read encouraging and uplifting messages to themselves and others.

We are already looking forward to next year’s event! 💚

On Sunday, May 17th, the Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation (ASOEF) hosted its annual Scholarship Awards Program. This year, 27 new and continuing college students from Central Ohio received over $50,000 in scholarship awards. ASOEF is immensely grateful to our generous donors who made this possible. We wish all of these outstanding students the very best in their academic endeavors.

Yesterday, the Achieving Standards of Excellence Foundation had the privilege of hosting scholarship interviews with an impressive group of high school seniors competing for one of our scholarships. We were inspired by their goals, accomplishments, and the bright futures ahead of them.

A heartfelt thank you to our team of community volunteer interviewers for giving up part of their Saturday to support this important process. Your time, thoughtfulness, and commitment mean so much.

Scholarship decisions will be announced the first week of May. We are grateful to every student who participated and wish each of them the very best.

🟢 Attention Parents of CURRENT 8th, 9th, and 10th graders. Applications are now open for our AKAdette youth mentoring program. The AKAdette program focuses on providing educational, social and leadership development, while engaging high school girls in community service. We seek young ladies who have demonstrated high moral and ethical standards, along with leadership and high scholastic qualities.

🟢 Applications are due on March 31st at 11:59 PM.

🟢 There will also be an optional information session on Wednesday, March 11th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM at Barnett Library.
