Yesterday, one of our members was honored to participate in the American Discovery Trail 250 Relay. Starting in Point Reyes CA on July 4th and ending in Washington DC on Thanksgiving. The northern tier route runs right through NE with yesterday’s route from Central City to Lincoln. The baton honoring America’s 250th birthday has a copy of the Declaration of Independence inside. Updated rules are now in place for electric bikes, scooters, mini-bikes, mopeds, golf carts and other recreational vehicles operating in Columbus.

Columbus City Council heard concerns from residents, questions from Council members and safety considerations from the Police Department as it reviewed proposed regulations for e-bikes, e-scooters and hoverboards.

The result? More discussion, more feedback and potential changes before the ordinance moves forward.

The way people move through Columbus is changing.

E-bikes, e-scooters and hoverboards are increasingly being used for both recreation and transportation, and the Columbus Police Department is working to make sure regulations address newer technology while providing clearer safety guidelines for residents.
