If anyone needs food, got word that there are plenty of boxes of frozen meals outside Whetstone high school. We usually pickup from the Global Academy on Karl rd so I bet they're out there too. Go get them because they will throw them away in the morning.

Effective immediately, Sheriff Dallas Baldwin is declaring a Level 2 Snow Emergency in Franklin County. In addition to blowing and drifting wind, roads are icy and only necessary travel is recommended.

The snow warriors are preparing for another snow event. A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect on later tonight until midday Tuesday afternoon. Precipitation is expected to begin, followed by frigid temperatures which may cause icy conditions on our roads.

We have begun anti-icing arterial and collector roadways and preparing additional equipment to go into service as the event progresses. Residents are asked to please be mindful of snow warriors working to ensure our roads are safe to travel on, keeping a safe distance from them while driving.

Please stay tuned for additional updates throughout the event

Ohio PSA, there is a currently a huge scam in Ohio with unemployment claims. As an employer, my broker has received a multiple claims made on current employees and claims on behalf of people we have never heard of. ODJFS is paying BILLIONS in fraudulent claims even after receiving multiple notices the claim is fraudulent. It has been a frustrating and basically useless process of letters, phone calls, emails, on-line submissions to ODJFS. I have read that people that have had fraudulent claims against them are now receiving notice they now OWE the money that was paid to a scammer.

Here is the notice received on Friday from ODJFS.

Please be advised that ODJFS is in the process of launching an online option for employers to report potential fraud on behalf of multiple current or former employees. The portal is estimated to go-live during the week of February 1st.

In the meantime, ODJFS encourages employers to direct employees to continue utilizing the existing online portal for individual reporting, by visiting unemployment.ohio.gov and selecting the Report Identify Theft button. Employers are also able to use the existing portal to report single instances of possible fraud on behalf of their employees.

For more information for victims, please direct employees to "Identity Theft and 1099 Resources" web page: unemploymenthelp.ohio.gov/IdentityTheft

For more information for employers, please visit https://unemploymenthelp.ohio.gov/employerFAQ/ .

ODJFS will issue additional notification next week once the employer portal is live and provide additional information for submission. In the meantime, thank you for your time and cooperation.

Please be prepared for what is supposed to come this weekend, stretching into Monday!
