Halt Violence

Halt Violence We squash beef with shooters, hoods, family members and friends! They let us know if a situation can be squashed or not.

Squashing beef is done by a team that understands the situations that lead to violence in the hoods. Street Mentors enter the hoods and holla at the shooters at the corner stores, strips of violence, there trap houses or talk by phone. Upon building relationships or having them, we squash beef by working with those shooters that are shot callers in their hoods. They let us know if they were involv

ed in a situation and why. Shooters also let us know when there not involved in a violence situation to kill that rumor to avoid unnecessary beef. When this is done, we are helping the highest of being a shooter in the hoods or the victim of shootings in the hoods. This is done by letting shooters know they got an agency that got there back. Halt Violence gives its WORD that everything we do with shooters, don’t go nowhere! Once our word is established, we have a bond, and the process begins to save lives from the horrendous cycle of violence that traumatizes families and entire hoods.

Our Story

The organization desires to help the under privileged and disadvantaged youth in the urban communities. We want the youth to learn the importance of relating appropriately and effectively with peers, family, co-workers, neighbors, and members of the community. In doing so, the violence can be reduced and education can be increased. When our young children learn the importance of maintaining sound mental health through avoidance of substance abuse/dependence and self-destructive behaviors, the communities will become safer.

Our agency specializes in violence meditations. When we know the parties involved, HALT VIOLENCE engages with 2 to 3 parties from each opposing group to perform a conflict mediation at our safe site. HALT VIOLENCE gives the individuals involved a place to resolve there issues with nonviolent alternatives. HALT VIOLENCE role at a mediation is to ensure the level of talking is not disrespectful, watch body language and to assist with suggestions when the parties get stuck in how to resolve the issue at hand.
